UConn Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) restricts the use of 3D printers on campus due to concerns of Health and Safety. 3D printers create toxic fumes when they operate, and have some general operational hazards. This page is intended to provide general and specific information concerning the 3D printing facilities in the Mathematics Department.
Upon completion of the Department’s Standard Operating Procedures training and completing the Hazardous Communication Acceptance Form, access may be granted to 3D printing. Initially printing on the Ultimaker S5 printer is limited to Kevin Marinelli. You may contact him for your 3D printing needs in the department.
